Fall For A Magician.

Fall for a magician. Fall in love with a magician, a magician whose words weave mystical lands in thin air, who draws blind faith of a fading summer, whose voice makes the insides warm and squishy and it is as if everything is just right.

Fall for someone who cannot admire you enough despite the imperfections that you make evident, complaining; someone who lends to these imperfections a rhythm, a symphony, a song, a tune while stringing their guitar in the morning, while you indulge in some breakfast in bed that they prepared for you, in a voice so beautiful that it makes you giggle and blush.

Fall for someone who isn’t afraid to tell you how they fell for you; someone who chooses the right words and isn’t hesitant to tell you when it happened, almost like two worlds colliding, two universes colliding and being one for eternity; someone who can write a book about how they love the way you brush your hair, or the small mole on your back, or the color of your eye, or the glint n your hair when sunlight falls on it.

Fall for someone who paints you while you sit engrossed in your book, someone who converges the two you’s: the one of their dreams and the one that is you, in yellows and reds and in colors unseen and shades unnoticed, small details that give incredible depth and beauty and charm and poise to that simple crayon painting, making it so beautiful to look at, that it hurts.

Fall for someone who makes you their muse. That way, it doesn’t matter if you live or you die, if you laugh or cry, if it works or if it doesn’t, because it will always be there when you’re sad or lonely or depressed and you feel unloved and ugly, and maybe for just some time, your song, your poem, your picture will make you happy, and maybe, just maybe, make everything better for a while.

So fall in love with a magician, and it might just the be the best thing you would have ever done.

Hope, Happiness and Life.

What do you want from life?

I hope tomorrow that I’ll have the perfect house.
A loving family, a caring spouse.
Tomorrow is what hope brings to me.
I hope tomorrow I’ll be better financially.
I’ll lead a normal life, maybe a few ups and downs.
That my life has colors, not just white and grey.
I hope that I have an AC, a car, a phone.
I hope that I go on and on and on.
I hope that I have a long way to go.
Accomplishing everything as I go.
Tomorrow, I hope comes to me.
It’s all a part of life. You see, I just want to be happy.

Oh, Wait,
There’s the difference between you and me.
I’ve seen real life difficulty.
While you hope for a house, a car,
There are some who sleep beneath the stars.
While you hope for an AC in the summers,
There are people who go empty stomached.
While you hope for an even better life,
I’ll give up anything to trade your life.
So maybe, you shouldn’t say that to me.
Because what little you have is everything to many.
Be happy with what you have, not sad because of what you need.
Think of others, help them before you wish for betterment. You’ll see,
Life will surprise you with what you wish.
Make it your goal to make someone’s life rich.
Making someone’s tomorrow better that today.
Because that’s what true happiness is.

Creative Blogger Award

Second award in a month by the lovely blogger from Yashika194, Yashika, the Creative Blogger Award. I’m most humbled that she thought me competent for the award, and I’ll try not to get that to my head. She’s a great blogger with a wonderful poetic sense.

Hi everybody! I’m back… with some great news. I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award. Can you believe it? And it’s there, thanks to Yashika, who writes amazing poems and is pretty awesome at drawing. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s been three and a half years of blogging now and I’ve never been happier.

The Simple Curve- Smile.

DSC_00551

If there’s anything in the world that sets everything right,
The curve of the lips, between a fight.
The toothless grin makes the heart light.
You can’t contain it, can’t hold it tight.
It’s cheaper than the cheapest for all crude and caste.
It escapes violently, it’s durable, it lasts.
Willingly though it fights anger,
Like a true soldier, it never surrenders.
It’s contagious, even more than a disease.
It bring comfort, familiarity and ease.
A small smile, however it may be, does miracles.
It’s sweeter than candy, not sour as pickle.
The smile can have all wars cease.
The smile never fails to please.
A smallest angle than can change the world.
However we dismiss it, “It’s absurd.”
A smile brings hope, nurtures it.
It’s like medicine, work bit by bit.
It’s a tool that revives men from life,
Worse than Dante’s purgatory before paradise.
It’s the worst seeker, draws attention,
Of pure admiration, awe, not pretension.
Thus, a small curve it is, and sets things right,
It’s contagious. It brings happiness and delight.

Happy 3 Years, My Love!

First of all, a very happy anniversary to me! No, not my birthday or engagement, but this blog. This baby just turned three today! I’ve been happily married to ‘The World Past Me’ for three years now. And I’d like to congratulate this URL for having managed to stay with me for all this time, I can be very difficult if I want to.

So, its time for speeches! First of all, I’d like to thank my father was this amazingly brilliant, mind engaging idea of “launching” this blog on the public sphere. It gives me absolute pleasure to see my stats everyday! I’d like to thank my mom and my sister for having allowed me to log on their emails and subscribe to this baby.

I’d like to thank Garg Aunty, my tuition teacher for having taught me how to write. I am forever indebted to you, ma’am.  I’d also like to thank Enid Blyton for having written the ‘Famous Five’ series that was actually the first book I bought (thanks again, dad) and read. And finally, to all those people who take out time and visit this blog, regularly or otherwise (although I know this is usually visited my children who wish to proceed with their summer holiday homework) and appreciate my stuff. Thanks a lot for encouraging me to present more to you guys!

With your appreciation, I’ll hopefully write more and write better and present you all with more engaging stuff.

Till then,

Cheers, Akanksha
